Contemporary papercut artist inspires a teacher, inspires her students

I really love instagram. Not because of the endless scrolling. And, not (only) to keep up to date on the lives of my friends and family. But, because it has introduced me to so many contemporary artists that I would never have known about if it wasn't for their instagram pages.

One of these artists is Pippa Dyrlaga - a talented papercut artist. She creates beautiful and intricately detailed works using just paper and an xacto knife.

I knew she would be the perfect artist inspiration for my seventh grade students and a much more interesting way to teach them about positive and negative space. Pippa's work inspired and excited me and in turn, she has inspired and excited them. I'm linking an article below the talks about one of these students in particular.
